A second-generation landscape business owner, Forth Heffner literally grew up in the business learning from and then ultimately succeeding his father after his passing in 2014.  Today, his business exceeds $2M in revenue and, at peak season, employs 35. His sharp business acumen is a result of lessons learned during a lifetime in the business. Among those lessons -- understanding how to recruit the right people for the right positions on his team. He credits that and “Trusting both internal processes and the wisdom and value of his team,” for creating the strong company culture that has elevated Heffner Landscaping to its current level of success.

A motivated entrepreneur with an exceptional business sense, Chris Speen entered the green industry 15 years ago when he saw opportunity in the rapidly growing landscape contracting market.  This owner and General Manager now helms a $2.5M business in a competitive Ann Arbor, Mich. market. Speen’s innate leadership ability serves him well in managing a team of 35 employees with whom he instills the importance of communication and superior customer service.

Dirk Bakhuyzen Jr  has been hard at work in the green industry since the tender age of 12. He went on to build a multimillion dollar landscape management and tree service company that he sold to his sons in 2015.  A natural leader, Bakhuyzen then parlayed his keen business skills into a motivational speaking and coaching business, becoming an Executive Leader for the renowned John Maxwell Team of speakers where he coaches  small businesses owners on leadership and business success principles.

As President of Frederick Mountain Group, Jennifer Ford is singularly focused on business growth, helping clients maximize their marketing dollars via a three-step process of evaluation, strategic planning and implementation.  A graduate of Georgetown University and Colorado School of Law, Ford has garnered more than 15 years of experience in business and nonprofit consulting. She is well-versed in the challenges that business owners face and brings her extensive knowledge of traditional, digital and social media marketing to support small business development and growth.
